Where is lane 3 position

It is coated with oil thrown from cars and is slippery when wet. When travelling the curb lane or next to a parking lane, a motorcycle driver should be slightly to the left of the centre of the lane.

This is your blocking position and protects you in case a driver opens the door of a parked car. When driving on a road with three or more lanes, always ride left of centre unless you are in the extreme left lane, in which case you should ride right of centre. To do this you need to know where you should be positioned at the next junction. If you don't know which lane you need to take, road signs and lane markings leading to the junction should be able to give you the correct guidance.

Unless you need the right lane at the next junction it is normally better to select the left lane. This will avoid you having to change lanes after you turn. If you select the right-hand lane for the turn, check carefully to the left after the turn to make sure there is no one in your blind area before returning to the left lane. Look and plan well ahead, reading the signs and markings. This will help you get into the correct lane in good time. If you do find yourself in the wrong lane in heavy traffic, avoid trying to change lanes quickly.

When you are sure the other driver is letting you in, move over gradually and acknowledge the driver who let you move in. Before you move, however, check your side mirrors for cyclists and motorcyclists driving between the lanes.

Let's chat for a minute about how to use different lane positionings to practice defensive driving. Whether you're in parent taught drivers ed, teen drivers ed or adult drivers ed, you'll need to know this information on the road. Position 1: The center of the lane. This is where you should be most of the time. Not too hot, not too cold; juuuust right with a little space cushion on both sides. Position 2: The right side of the lane. This is a good place to go if someone is passing you. Position 3: The left side of the lane.
