Why do dragons keep attacking me in skyrim

The 3rd dragon to betray his former master doesn't live long after his service to you. You are not just powerful.

You're THE person that can permanently destroy them by absorbing their souls. It turns out you are The Dragonborn, a mortal born every now and then with a dragon's soul and the ability to absorb the souls of other dragons. Normally, when a dragon is physically killed, their soul simply escapes and reforms a body at a later time, so from their perspective, being killed is at worst an inconveniently timed forced nap.

Annoying if they were in the middle of something, but no big. If they're killed while you're around, however, death is much more permanent, and they don't like that. The only reasonable solution, from the perspective of most of them, is to kill you before you get the chance to do it to them.

Valkar Vagnar 22 Oct pm I believe it's normal and I don't think it's a glitch. Dragons you have killed dont give soul 1s you have not do I think, yes it is random but if dragon mound near more likely.

I got tired of fighting dragons all the time so I installed a mod that removes random dragons. I guess I'll turn it back on if I want to make dragon armor. I've read that fast travel makes random dragons appear more often. It's semi-random in my experience once they're due they will show up, so even if you reload a previous save they will in all likelyhood show up elsewhere, if not immediately then pretty soon.

They exist as a means of creating a threat, and an obstacle to be overcome, but one that is so powerful that a hero will usually suffer loss, and have to make sacrifices, in order to do so. In order to begin the story, the dragon must cause genuine loss and destroy something of real value — hence attacking villages.

By having one or two tanks to absorb damage and distract the dragon, you will be free to fight or escape at leisure. Attack the dragon from the side, targeting the wings. The tail attack can stagger you, and the head attack can one-hit kill you. The wings deal less damage comparatively. The best way to pause the dragon attacks is to keep doing the main questline until you get to Blade in Dark.
